King of the Potty

I am so proud of Eli. We have been trying so hard to potty train him and he pretty much has it down pat. He even goes to the bathroom by himself when he has to go. My mom jokes that he is now the "king of the potty". He has it down pat at home but it has made me nervous to go anywhere in public with him. He isn't too sure about going on a public toilet so we haven't really tried it. I knew we were almost trained last Sunday when we went to Cici's after church. He had to go so Aaron took him and he went on the big potty at Cici's. How exciting for him! But I also thought it was a fluke. Then today, we had to take all three kids to the doctor because they have been sick and Eli needed to go while we were there. We first tried on the big potty but he didn't want to try. Then he saw a little potty like his own in another bathroom and would only go there. But the important thing is that he did it!! While I am SO excited for him (as well as for the fact that we don't have to buy him diapers anymore), I am SAD! He is getting so big and him being out of diapers is a clear sign that he is definitely NOT a baby anymore. I guess I didn't realize how sad I would be to reach this stage!
