Pops in the Park

Aaron arranged for my parents to watch all three kids for the evening and took me to Charlotte to watch the symphony put on Pops in the Park. It is a free event where everyone can bring their chairs and blankets and enjoy the music. Tonight was A Night On Broadway. We were so excited. This morning I checked the weather and there was only a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms so we thought that was an ok chance. We dropped the kids off at Mom and Dad's and headed to Charlotte. When we got there we walked to a little pizza place and ordered drinks and a pizza and then went and found a spot on the lawn. I swear people had staked out their spots days in advance so there were hundreds of people which looked like sea of people. We layed our blanket out on a slight hill just up from the lake that the amphitheatre sits on. We ate our pizza, read our books, and just enjoyed being together without our kids! We felt a little funny in our shorts eating pizza when it seemed like everyone was in polo shirts, dresses and eating their cheese and drinking their wine! We got there about 6:00 and the show started at 8:15. We heard about 15 minutes of music and then the 30% chance of rain dumped on us!! We sat there for a few minutes hoping it would pass and then we decided to make a run for it! So, we had to call it an evening and little early than we had planned, but we still had a really fun time! Here are some of our pictures and a quick video of the symphony playing our favorite...Les Mis!
