Nothing warms my heart more than watching my kids learn. They soak everything up like little sponges and it is so much fun to be a part of. Like most toddler's, Eli and Lucy have their favorite books that they like to have read to them. And like most toddlers, they can "read" these favorite stories back to you almost word for word. We were getting ready for bed last night and Eli picked up one of his favorite books and began "reading" it to Lily. The best part was that Lily was a perfect little audience for him. She was interested and engaged in him and let him read and read. The video goes a little long, but at the end he picks up a book that I have for them to look at that I haven't really read to him before. It is a nonfiction book with fabulous pictures. (I read in a magazine that we need to expose our children to nonfiction texts as well as fiction, so I thought I better show them this book.) But the best part is that he starts to make up his own story to go along with the pictures.
