It is official. Lily finally has her helmet after 2 months! It seems like it has taken a long time since we found out that she needed to go and have the evaluation for the plagiocephaly. We had the fitting appointment yesterday and since then, things are going very well. When the therapist came in with her helmet and put it on her head, Lily immediately started crying and touching it. We left it on her to let her wear it and play for about 15 minutes so they could monitor how it was fitting on her head. There were some adjustments they had to make, but it seemed to be a good fit. We have to monitor it a lot in the first 3 days that she wears it, but then once we determine that there aren't any problems with the fit, she will wear it for 23 hours a day! We had about a 40 minute drive home and she cried, no screamed, for probably 33 of those minutes. She did better once we got home and slept well with it so hopefully she will begin to get used to it. Here are the first pictures of Lily and her new head gear!

Who knew a helmet could look so good? Praying that she adjusts to it, has no problems, and that this corrects the issue with no further treatment needed! Stay brave, momma!
