Today was a gorgeous day!
We woke up and headed out to church this morning. What a beautiful time to worship together and refuel for the week.
After church we headed home and began getting ready for the week. I had another lettuce wrap of tomatoes and egg salad while the kids and Aaron had sandwiches.
Once lunch was over, Aaron, Eli and Lucy picked up the house, did dishes, and folded laundry. Lily and I went to Costco for our once a month trip. We are about 30 minutes away from Costco so it is always a fun little adventure. let me tell you, we did amazing! Once we were there we were in and out in less than an hour. I literally pulled into our driveway exactly 2 hours after I left. It was epic! I was able to stock up on a lot of my necessities for Whole 30. Even though I am technically done on Wednesday, I am preparing to do it for another 30 days so I needed some of my staples. Those include some more fruits, veggies, black olives, organic chicken breasts, nuts, and La Croix water. The rest of the stuff was the staples for the kids' lunches. I was so proud of us that we didn't break the bank and we went so quickly!
We headed home and everyone helped to unload. We were able to relax for about an hour before we headed out to the visitation of a dear colleague's mother in law.
Since the visitation was in Salisbury and it was dinner time, we decided that we would take the kids out to eat. This is definitely something we don't do very often (except for what appears to be this weekend!) and we had a nice family time at Cracker Barrel. I love that place. It seems like everyone is happy and can find something that makes them happy! I was able to eat a grilled pork chop, steamed veggies, and cooked carrots. YUM! Of course, since we were in Salisbury we naturally had to stop and also get ourselves a dozen donuts at Krispy Kreme! Yep, I can't lie. I did cheat...I just couldn't resist. It was the sweetest thing I have had in almost 30 days. It was good and believe it or not, I didn't really feel guilty about it! Sometimes in the past I couldn't just eat one. I would continue to want more and more. That didn't happen. I was definitely satisfied with the one that I had.
I can't believe that Tuesday is my last day. As I am getting closer to the end I have mixed feelings about it. I am definitely SO over this. But at the same time, I am really enjoying it. I am enjoying the extra energy, the fact that I have almost 0 cravings, my clothes are feeling looser each day, and I can tell my body is literally changing before my eyes.
I am definitely gaining some perspective and realizing a LOT of things that I will most likely share in my last post. These 30 days have been extremely eye opening and I hope that some of you will decide to embark on this adventure once you see that if I can do it, anyone can!
Chop Chop 2 days to go!
