Roach Family Road trip Day 1

Day 1
Today began the trip of a lifetime for our family. A trip that has been in the making for almost a year. We've been talking about, planning, and praying for this adventure for awhile and it is exciting that it is finally here. This week the kids have been attending Chick-Fil-A's Winshape camp while Mom and Dad packed and cleaned.
Here I am with all of my clothes for the month packed into 6 ziplock bags.

Today's camp for the kids was only a half day.  So after we packed the car with everything we will need for 30 days on the road, we headed over to the church to pick the kids up at lunch time. We brought our lunches back to the house so we could give Seeger his anti anxiety medicine. (he doesn't do well with car travel anymore)

We got off a few minutes earlier than we had planned so we were so excited! About 4 miles from home, our car began acting very strange! We drove to Autozone and a car shop close to home. But after no luck figuring out what was going on, we decided to head home.

We were so defeated and not sure what to do.

I plugged everything in at home and turned the air conditioning back down because I was confident our trip would not begin today. But after about an hour, Aaron went back out to the car to try and figure some things out and it was perfectly fine! So he drove around town for awhile and then came back and said he thought we should go for it.  So we did!!!

We crossed the state line into Tennessee and arrived safely at our first stop on our roadtrip with absolutely no car issues.

Please pray alongside of us that we continue to have no issues with our car on this trip. We are excited to spend a few days here with Aaron's family in the beautiful state that we love! We also plan to leave our dog, Seeger, here with Mamaw and Papaw since he can't make this great adventure with us!

We arrived just in time for dinner. It is about 83 degrees this afternoon and overcast because they are expecting some serious storms. That didn't stop us from spending some time outside playing after being in the car for 4 hours!

Overall, it was a fun and eventful first day. Be on the lookout for a blog entry from each member of our family throughout our adventure!
