His Favorite

One of the most wonderful thing as a parent is to see your child learning new things. But watching your children learn about Jesus and his Life, Grace, Love and Sacrifice is even more of a beautiful thing. Eli's preschool teacher, Cynthia, is just an amazing woman of God and has been teaching her little busy threes so many wonderful things this year. She has written her own curriculum for the three year olds as they learn the Passion and Resurrection story. It has been so fun to hear all of the things that he comes home and tells us about. For instance, he came home last week and told us all about Judas and how he betrayed Jesus with a kiss on the cheek and that told the bad men where Jesus was. Yesterday in class, Cynthia was showing the kids different pictures of the Resurrection story and asking them to pick out a "good" picture and a "yucky" picture. When it came around to Eli's turn, he picked the picture of the cross as his good picture. She was a little taken back by this and asked, "Eli are you sure this isn't your yucky picture?" He looked at her (she says like, "yeah, I'm sure, why would you even be asking me that?") He said, "Yes, this is my good picture." She said, "Ok, why?" and he replied with the most beautiful answer, "because Jesus died on the cross for me!" Makes me tear up just typing it. It doesn't get more wonderful than that!
