Good bye, good house

Well it is official. The last box on the truck, the papers signed, no more keys on the key ring. It won't be until Monday until the deed is switched to the new owner and she signs the papers, but as for us, we are gone and it is official. Surprisingly, I only cried a few tears. I was too tired to dwell over it too much. Aaron and Dad moved all of the stuff while mom and I cleaned and cleaned! It has been a good experience. We have now bought and sold our first house. I have learned two very important things through the whole experience.

Lesson 1: I really learned the meaning of Matthew 6:19: "Do not store up for yourselves treaures on earth...but store up for yourselves treaures in Heaven...for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

We have SO MUCH STUFF! You have to understand that for the past 2 months we have been bringing loads of our things over to our storage unit. So much stuff that we filled a 10X10 strorage unit front to back, top to bottom. All was fine until we brought the 17 foot moving truck to the house and began packing it. The verse came to mind when we couldn't fit all of our things from our little house into it! We are promising that we will carefully unpack each of our boxes and seriously evaluate what we will keep and what we will not as we move into our new house!

Lesson 2: Home is where the heart is. As sad as it was to leave the house today. My first house, the only house my kids have ever known, I also realized that it is just wood and nails. It doesn't matter where we live, as long as we are together and happy.

And so with that we say, Goodbye, Taylor Place house. You were a good house, a really great house!
