So Fun!
If you have read many of my blogs before, you know that I haven't had the best of luck when taking my kids for professional pictures. The pictures themselves somehow always turn out to be beautiful, but the experience itself has kept me from returning. So the last time we went, I had decided that I would do a better job of getting pictures of Lily since Eli and Lucy will both now have school pictures taken. So since she is now six months old, I called the portrait studio and made the appointment. I decided that it seems when we go on the weekends it is a little more crazy, that I would try to go during the week. So this past Tuesday, I picked only Lily up and headed for Pineville (which is about 45 minutes away). I got there right at the appointment time and there was no one in front of me!!! We went straight in and started taking pictures. It was the same photographer as her 8 week portraits. We took pictures for 30 minutes! She wasn't sure what to think at first so we had some tears and red eye pictures at first. But then she quickly warmed up to all of the attention and did amazing. Then we went and looked at all of the photos and chose the poses and sizes that I wanted. I had to nurse her at 6:00 and we finished everything up at 5:55. In the mall, they have these nice family restrooms with nursing mom's rooms. I got one of those and fed Lily. Then we walked to the food court where I got some supper and fed Lily some green beans. After we ate, we went shopping for awhile. I got Eli and Lucy some really adorable outfits for their school pictures which are coming up next week. Then we headed back to the car where Lily fell asleep and we made it home just in time to say goodnight to Eli and Lucy. I have to admit it was a really fun time! It also helped me realize how important it is for Aaron and I to do things with just one of the kids. It also made me realize just how easy it was with just one child! I remember thinking how overwhelmed I was with just Eli, and now one seemed so easy! It is amazing how my persepective has changed so quickly! :-)
