Wow, the reality that in less than a week I will be done is settling in. I was checking out the Whole 30 timeline this morning and I had to chuckle. Even with my car accident, it seems like my feelings toward the Whole 30 were on par with some of the other people's in what to expect!
Last night, we got off to a late start as we went to see my Grandma. She had another stroke on Monday and I hadn't been to see her in awhile. So because we were with her, we were late getting home, having dinner, AND going to bed. It wasn't a big deal though at all and it was for a great reason!
We made tacos last night and I was very thankful for premade taco seasoning that I made earlier this month! We ate quickly and began getting ready for bed. The kids have started helping us pack their lunches and it is making our morning schedules go much smoother! So after we packed lunches, we set out clothes, picked up our stuff, and cleaned the kitchen. Once the kids were in bed, I folded clothes, packed my lunch and mopped the floor. I knew then I must be feeling better!!!
Today, Day 25, started out well. I am single momming it this week as Aaron attends a conference in Florida with a friend of his.
We hit the ground running this morning. It was so nice to have all of our lunches prepared. We even managed to set the trash cans out at the street! WIN for us. It's the little things, people! Since today is our veggie delivery day from Absolute Organics, we are very low in the produce department. I am so thankful for that delivery today. Even with a smoother morning, I couldn't grab any fruit and I did not have time to make any eggs so it was a Larabar kind of morning. I wasn't hungry for a snack so I feel like my body is adjusting to this new lifestyle.
Lunch was a leftover taco salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, green onions, and olives.
No after school snack was needed today either!
Dinner was super exciting as our delivery was made today. I was actually excited to cut some veggies and get supper going! The kids had mac and cheese and broccoli and I had a chicken breast and broccoli. The one issue that I have with broccoli is that my kids can't get enough of it. So typically when I make my veggies, I can have the leftovers the next day for lunch. This doesn't happen with broccoli because there are never leftovers! UGH! Oh well, I should be happy that they love it so much!!!
Our nightly routines have to be done to keep us moving. I am thankful today is Thursday so we don't have anymore school nights after tonight! Following dinner we picked up, cleaned the kitchen, set our clothes out, packed lunches, folded and put clothes away, and crashed! Single parents are my heroes!
Chop, Chop!
