When we woke up this morning, we all remarked that we had the best night sleep ever! Our campsite here is so much better than our campsite in Estes Park. First thing is that it is level! Second, it is 3 times the size of the last one! It also doesn't seem to have gotten as cold last night as it did in Colorado. We woke up and had some breakfast.
I woke up especially early this morning and set everything up while the rest were sleeping (remember last night we set up only our tent and our sleeping areas.) Then I enjoyed just sitting and reading! The only thing is that there are SOOO many mosquitoes here!
We were sort of lazy all morning and lounged around.
In Colorado we shared a bear box with our neighbors. Here in Wyoming we have our own bear box. We are keeping almost everything in it!
Once we got up and moving, we decided that we would head into the Tetons for our stamps and stickers. One of my favorite places the last time I was here was Jenny Lake. They have a visitor center there so we decided to drive down there, get our stamps, enjoy the views and have lunch. Our first surprise of the day was when we started our car, the blinkers still didn't work and the windshield wipers were still going! It appeared that whatever weird electrical thing that the car has done and then stopped is now officially staying with us! We didn't let it stop us though. We drove down to Jenny Lake. Only to find our second surprise of the day. Most of Jenny Lake is under construction. The visitor center is in a trailer and everything was closed! So we couldn't even eat our lunch with a view. We ended up sitting on a bench next to the parking lot and ate our lunch. During this time we started trying to figure out what we should do about our car. We decided to head back towards our campground. We stopped first to see Mount Moran. We actually have a photo of Mt. Moran in our den in our house in black and white by Ansel Adams. We look at it everyday and Aaron has always dreamed of seeing it in person. So this was exciting!
Then we stopped off at Colter Bay. This is a cool area off of Jackson Lake. We walked ALL around. I can not even begin to describe the beauty.
Then we made it back to the campground to have dinner, clean up, and hang out!
Despite the weird car issues, we had a beautiful day! We have decided to head BACK into Jackson tomorrow and have our car looked at. Having the windshield wipers going non stop is more than we can bear. Hopefully they will have some good news for us tomorrow!
